WHERE'S THE ROMANCE?
The weekend past, I went to view the Premier of "Night at the Museum 2" and my first impression prior to entering the cinema, was that its a "Love Story" with lots of romance, purely based on the amount of couples attending, however to my dismay, it was a really crappy movie and it sucked, with a capital S.
Thank goodness they don't make movies with taxpayers money, the country would be bankrupt in no-time. Anyway, the cinema was packed with young lovers and married couples each holding a large soda and a box of complimentary popcorn.
I was oblivious about "Night at the Museum 1" and the only reason I attended was because I was invited and that it was absolutely free. I would never have paid good money to watch such an insipid and crappy movie.
The movie started OK until Ben S started talking and interacting with inanimate museum pieces all of which came alive through the presence of an ancient Egyptian tablet with apparent magic powers. What a lot off crock with absolutely no entertainment value.

All I could think of, is that this movie should have been in animation, which would in fact have given it that necessary fictional flair. Many found the movie relatively funny, there was much laughter mostly because of the Pharaohs lisp. He just sounded funny.
Other than that, it had no entertainment value. It was really an advert for the Smithsonian, showing off its exhibits and for historical characters, most famous of which were absent anyway. There was no Hitler, but Einstein was there. There was no Caesar, but Ivan the Terrible was there, even Al Capone was there. The movie couldn't even do justice from a fictional, historical point of view.
I just think some retard movie makers have run out of themes for making movies and end up wasting hoards of investors money on crap that doesn't even have escapism value, yet they get a whopping return on investment. I'd hate to think what the quality of entertainment will become in the next 10 years, seeing they have already run out of ideas.
It certainly wasn't made for adult viewing and certainly not for kids so I wonder who their demographic really is or was intended to be. However, the popcorn and soda wasn't bad at all other than for the soda's sugar content that added another inch to my waist.
